It's the economy, pollsters told | Bangkok Post: news


The economy, specifically bread-and-butter issues affecting households, is what people want to hear about the most when the government delivers its three-year performance report, an opinion poll has found. Asked what issues people want to hear about most when Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha delivers his performance report, 80% of respondents said they wanted to hear measures to improve the economy, tourism, trade and investment. Government administration and use of public funds was second on the list at 73.9%, followed by policies to improve quality of life (68.1%) and plans for the general election nexty year (66.8%). The survey also found that the bread-and-butter issues was the biggest concern for respondents (83.8%) when they were asked what they'd like to tell the government. Concrete measures to solve problems plaguing the country were mentioned by 81%, followed by the government carrying out its tasks based on its roadmap to improve public confidence, (70.1%) and exercising power in a suitable and fair manner (65.8%).
